One of the first signs that Leeds City College’s pioneering new campus development at Quarry Hill had begun was the installation of the perimeter fencing. To make the most of this auspicious event, the College chose a bold design and selected us to print it.
As well as providing a fantastic opportunity to promote the ambitious £57m scheme, the site fencing needed to be extremely durable. It had to ensure the safety of the thousands of people walking past the prime city centre location and protect the construction personnel working on the scheme for its 18 months duration.
Having provided perimeter hoardings for large development schemes like this before we knew that the most effective solution would be linked dibond panels.
The 8 x 4ft 3mm aluminium composite panels are ideal for construction environments because they are very hard wearing and they also excellent for printing onto.
Our large format printing technology is able to recreate full colour designs to an extremely high standard. It can also apply an additional protective layer or anti-graffiti lamination.
The 135 printed hoarding board panels around the perimeter have remained perfectly intact throughout the construction and fit out phase. Even as they were being taken down ready for the opening of the Campus members of the public remarked that they still looked as good as new.
CSDPrint Managing Director Stephen Harrison explains why the project was such a success…
"From the very start of this large hoarding contract our team has excelled. We all got stuck in and did our very best with everything from meticulously adjusting artwork to ensure the design could accommodate the ground level variations to ensuring an absolutely top quality installation. I've driven past this scheme on a regular basis over the past year and half and every time I see it I feel immensely proud of our capabilities."
