Bring on 2022!
We are finishing the year in an optimistic mood. Things have been tricky (like they have for everyone) but in many ways we are in better shape than ever. And we’re really grateful for that!
We have just appointed a new studio manager Lee Jewson who has already had a very positive impact on the business and we’ve got another new team member joining in January. More detail about that later, let’s tell you some more about Lee first…
Lee is very experienced, he has been working in design and print for nearly 30 years – I know he doesn’t look old enough does he? He’s worked for some of the best in the region and has looked after some very exacting blue chip clients.
Despite his initial structural engineering aspirations, young Lee soon found himself drawn to the world of graphic design. He swapped his job with an engineering company to join retail point-of-sale printers, Kolorcraft in Ossett in 1991. And what a wise choice that turned out to be! Lee stayed for 14 years steadily working his way up the career ladder and finding love too. His wife, Emma, started at the company as an office junior around the same time. She is now an account manager with Kolorcraft and she and Lee have two grown-up sons.
From Kolorcraft Lee moved to catalogue design and print company Grattapalm based in Leeds and then onto one of the UK’s largest printing companies, Bezier. Here he progressed to studio manager and was responsible for looking after national campaigns for Asda, Boots and Superdrug.
Prior to joining CSDPrint Lee was studio manager at wide format printers Imageco where he got involved with the production of lots of exhibition stands and all types of banners and signage.
“Lee’s a great chap and his breadth of experience is just what we were looking for,” explains Gail Harrison, CSDPrint managing director. “He’s fitting in so well, taking everything in his stride. As we grow in terms of production capacity and the range of printing we offer, we need all our staff to be as versatile as possible.”
Lee added: “It’s so good to be playing such an instrumental role in helping CSDPrint to progress. The quality of the work is exceptional and there’s a great tight knit team here. I’m loving the challenge of working across such a broad range of clients. One minute I can be working on the design for a single vinyl sticker and the next a point-of-sale campaign for a high street retailer with outlets across the country. It’s an exciting time for the business, there’s some very interesting projects in the pipeline and I’m really looking forward to what the New Year brings.”
